Conventional and ultra-small gold reagents for immuno electron microscopy

Immuno electron microscopy is used to localize antigens in cells and tissues by using antigen specific primary antibodies in combination with an electron dense marker. This marker, in general colloidal gold, may be linked to the primary antibody. In general, however, a two-step detection is used with gold conjugated antibodies, Protein A or Protein G. Aurion offers researchers and scientists a wide range of electron microscopy gold reagents of the highest quality. These reagents consist of conventional gold conjugated antibodies, as well as our signature ultra-small immunogold conjugates. The latter is not only suitable for immuno electron microscopy but also for immuno light microscopy and blotting experiments. Aurion’s conventional gold reagents are built around gold nanoparticles with a diameter of 6, 10, 15 or 25 nm. Our ultra-small electron microscopy gold reagents are prepared with subnanometer gold particles, which have less influence on the adsorbed antibodies or detecting molecules.
